Question: The picture shows the process of making wool. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
ANSWER:
The image demonstrates different steps involved in the manufacture of wool products. Overall, there are various stages in the procedure, beginning with shearing the fleece from sheep, followed by processing the wool and ending with the production of yarns used for both personal knitting and commercial goods.
The first six steps involve the preparation of the materials for woolen products. At first, sheep are sheared and then the fleece is washed with water, before being brought into a drying machine. After this, the dried wool is conveyed into a carding device to produce two types of products which are excess string and tufts of wool; the first will be subsequently recycled and the latter is employed for the next stage.
The final products are the outcome of the remaining steps. After obtaining the tufts of wool from the carding stage, they are reserved in a storage area. Afterwards, a spinning process turns the wool pieces into balls of yarn, ready for knitting purposes or being woven into commercial products such as jackets or carpets. (173 words)
