Given is a bar graph comparing the differences in the proportion of time that parents in Australia spent on assisting their offspring with four activities in 2013. Overall, mothers attended more frequently than fathers in all pursuits. Moreover, while parents together spent the highest proportion on having fun with their children, fathers liked to help young people with their assignments and preparing clothes was mothers’ favourite preserve.
Regarding mothers, changing clothes constituted nearly 75%, followed by homework and bed-making, at 60% and around 42%, respectively. The lowest time allotted by female parents was entertainment, at 25%.
Concerning fathers, time spent doing homework accounted for 10%, around five times higher than that of choosing clothes. Meanwhile, playing games and preparing for bed shared an identical figure, at approximately 4% each.
Finally, both parents as a team spent 70% of their time entertaining their offspring, whereas figures for dressing and bed-time activities were 50% each. In contrast, doing assignments ranked in the final place, at just under 40%. (168 words)

Question: In many countries, people increasingly talk about money (e.g. how much they earn or how much they paid for things) in their daily conversation.
Why is this?
Is this a positive or negative development?
ANSWER:
In recent times, the topic of personal finances has growingly appeared in everyday dialogue in different parts of the world. This serves as a means for individuals to display their accomplishments and to adjust their spending balance. This trend, in my opinion, is beneficial to the advancement in both individual and societal levels.
The reasons for this phenomenon are mostly personal. Firstly, people discuss money to illustrate their prosperity. This is because financial capability can act as a key indicator of a person’s success. For instance, society often respects rich people because they are often regarded as successful. Additionally, this tendency assists households in balancing their expenditure. By comparing their spending allocations with others on various aspects, such as mortgages, people can gain information regarding reasonable budgets to allocate to certain areas. As a result, they understand how to adjust accordingly to optimise their savings.
I personally contend that this trend is advantageous for both individuals and society. Personally, this motivates people in their pursuit of achievements. By being constantly aware of others’ success, they would put more effort into competing and acquiring comparable achievements to their peers. Furthermore, the frequency of this subject contributes to enhancing the quality of market products and services. As individuals spend their income wisely, they may understand that overpriced products and exaggerated advertisements are no longer appealing. Thus, companies need to concentrate on improving the actual quality of their goods.
In conclusion, the increase in the frequency of discussing money in daily topics is attributed to the urge to demonstrate wealth and expenditure optimization. I believe that this is a constructive development for both individuals and the general public, since it encourages people to pursue success and contributes to improved product quality. (288 words)
