Question: The chart below shows the protein and calorie Intakes of people in different parts of the world.
ANSWER:
The bar graphs illustrate the consumption, on average, of protein and calories by residents in various regions of the world. Overall, North American individuals consume the most protein and calories compared to other regions, and it is the only area where both protein and calorie intake meet recommended levels. Moreover, the major source of protein in most areas is from meat, except for India.
Regarding the protein ingestion, the suggested amount is nearly 68 units. In North America, 62 of the total 80 units consumed come from animal sources, while the corresponding figures for Latin America are 32 and 45 units. While East Africans ingest 16 units of meat-based protein and Indians eat 13 units of the same type, they contain a comparable amount of other protein in their meals, at 15 units each, totalling approximately 30 units for each region.
Concerning the caloric intake, the optimal level is slightly under 3,000 calories. Specifically, North Americans exceed the suggested amount, at around 3,500 calories, followed by Latin America, at roughly 2,700. Meanwhile, East African citizens consume roughly 2,200, which is nearly 200 calories higher than Indian ones. (191 words)
