Question: People believe that they should be able to keep all the money they earn and should not pay tax to the state. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
ANSWER:
It is widely believed that citizens are entitled to retain their entire earnings without being subjected to any tax obligations to the government. I totally disagree with this notion since taxation not only bolsters national and individual progress, but also serves as a deterrent against demotivation to succeed within citizenry.
The foremost justification for my advocacy of income tax is based on national advancement. Particularly, tax levied on citizens contributes to the development of major aspects in a country, including enhancing infrastructure and well-being for residents, such as improving road systems or establishing medical facilities and educational institutions. Basically, this plays a pivotal part in ameliorating a nation’s living standards.
Additionally, taxation fosters civic responsibility. Indeed, when citizens contribute to the state through taxation, they are actively participating in the collective endeavor of building a better community. This sense of accountability can instill values of patriotism and empathy, as individuals recognize the impact of their contributions on the welfare of others as well as the prosperity of their nation.
Furthermore, the practice of absolute retention of income may hinder endeavors towards individual advancement. In the absence of taxation, there would be a surplus of disposable income for individuals, enabling them to afford higher quality goods and services, thereby disincentivizing diligence for higher earnings among the populace. Ultimately, this could inadvertently undermine work ethics, fostering a culture of passivity and complacency.
In conclusion, I completely oppose the idea of workers keeping all earned income without any tax obligations, as residents’ contributions through taxation further national and individual development, as well as deterring the possibility of a less active society. Nonetheless, it is essential that taxation policies are governed with prudence, transparency and equality to guarantee the collective interests of society.
