Part 2:
Describe someone who likes to cook for others
I’d like to describe a person I know who has a genuine passion for cooking and enjoys preparing meals for others. Her name is Sarah, and she’s a close friend of mine.
Sarah’s love for cooking is evident in the way she talks about food and her enthusiasm in the kitchen. She’s not a professional chef, but she might as well be one, considering the level of dedication and skill she brings to her cooking. She often jokes that she’s a “home chef extraordinaire.”
One of the remarkable things about Sarah is her willingness to cook for others on various occasions. It doesn’t matter if it’s a casual get-together, a birthday party, or a holiday gathering—Sarah is always ready to take charge of the kitchen. She believes that food has a unique way of bringing people together, and she wants to create memorable experiences through her cooking.
Sarah’s dishes are not only delicious but also beautifully presented. She pays great attention to detail, often experimenting with different cuisines and flavors to cater to her guests’ tastes. Her specialty is Mediterranean cuisine, and her homemade hummus and falafel have earned her a reputation among our friends as the go-to person for Mediterranean delights.
Whenever there’s an event or a simple gathering, Sarah is the first to offer her culinary skills. Her passion for cooking and her dedication to making others happy through food is something I truly admire. She exemplifies how a love for cooking can not only nourish the body but also warm the hearts of those fortunate enough to taste her creations.
Part 3:
What do we need to prepare when we cook?
- When we cook, there are several things we need to prepare. First, we need the necessary ingredients, which include the main components of the dish and any seasonings or spices required for flavor. Secondly, we need cooking utensils and equipment like pots, pans, knives, and cutting boards. Additionally, we should have a recipe or cooking instructions to follow. Lastly, proper hygiene is crucial, so we should wash our hands and ensure the cleanliness of the cooking area.
Should children learn cooking in school?
- Yes, I believe children should learn cooking in school. Teaching cooking in schools offers several benefits. It equips students with valuable life skills that they’ll use throughout their lives. Cooking promotes healthy eating habits and encourages students to appreciate a balanced diet. It also fosters creativity and self-sufficiency. Moreover, it can be an enjoyable and interactive way to learn about various cultures and cuisines.
Do you think cooking should be a compulsory or an elective course? Why?
- I think cooking should be a compulsory course in schools, at least at a basic level. This is because cooking is an essential life skill that everyone should have. It helps individuals become more self-reliant and encourages healthier eating habits. However, as students progress through school, they could have the option to choose more advanced or specialized cooking courses as electives if they have a particular interest in culinary arts or related fields.
