TASK 1:
Question: The diagrams give information about changes in student accommodation.
ANSWER:
The diagrams illustrate how a student accommodation building has changed from 2010 to the present. Overall, the number of study-bedrooms has risen markedly. Meanwhile, part of the outdoor area has been removed to make way for a parking space.
In 2010, the entrance was located on the left-hand side, leading directly into a hall in the bottom-left corner of the house. Above the hall was the living room, while the bathroom was positioned in the centre of the layout. On the right-hand side, the kitchen was situated in the middle, with one study-bedroom above it and another below it. There was also a third study-bedroom on the far left, next to the entrance. Gardens were located at both the top and bottom of the property.
At present, the entrance remains on the left and still leads into the hall in the bottom-left corner. However, the layout has been reconfigured to create additional bedrooms. The original study-bedroom on the left has been divided into two smaller rooms, arranged vertically. The former living room above the hall has been converted into another study-bedroom, while the central bathroom remains in a similar position. On the right-hand side, the kitchen has been expanded into a kitchen/social area, and an extra study-bedroom is now located in the bottom-right corner. Furthermore, an ensuite bathroom has been added next to the hall, and the garden at the bottom has been replaced by a parking space.
