Question: The pie charts below show the percentage of students on the one adult education centre taking a various courses offered in 1985 and this year.
ANSWER:
The pie graphs delineate the composition of learners who participated in different courses in an educational institution for adults, in 1985 and the current year. Overall, the rate of students taking art and modern have decreased over the period, while that of cookery increased, and fitness and dance remained unchanged. Additionally, the IT program only records participation this year, whereas music appreciation and local history document no students in the present.
In 1985, the most common course was modern languages including French, German and Spanish as it witnessed 24% of adults partaking. This was followed by fitness and dance, and art at 22% and 17%, respectively. Culinary and local history pupils accounted for a comparable percentage of around 15%, while music appreciation attracted the lowest rate of only 8% of students.
Presently, a significant drop has been witnessed in the figure for modern languages to 17%. Art has also declined albeit to a lower rate to 15%, whilst cookery rose minimally to 19%. Music appreciation and local history have received no enrolment this year; conversely, IT registers 27% of learners compared to none in 1985. Finally, the figure for fitness and dance stabilized.
