Question: The charts below show the number of tourists to Australia from three countries in 1995 and 2005, and the types of travel between 1995 and 2005.
ANSWER:
The bar graph compares visitor traffic to Australia from three other nations in 1995 and 2005, while the line chart illustrates the methods of travelling over the same period.
Overall, Australia witnessed higher numbers of travelers from the UK and America over the period, while fewer Japanese vacationers chose Australia for their destinations. Moreover, resorts welcomed more guests over time, whereas backpacking was employed by fewer holiday-makers, despite dominating over the period.
Regarding the number of tourists, 800,000 British residents visited Australia in 1995, which was significantly higher than the number of those from the US at approximately 450,000. A decade later, traffic from both countries surged to roughly 1,500,000 visitors. In contrast, Australia documented a high of around 1,500,000 Japanese tourists in 1995 coming to their land, prior to a sudden drop to precisely 1,000,000.
As for the traveling types, approximately 1,600,000 backpackers were seen in Australia in 1995, before peaking at nearly 2,500,000 in the following five years. Despite plunging to just around 1,200,000 by 2005, this remained the most popular option. Resorts were the destinations of roughly 350,000 guests in 1995, which then rose continuously to slightly over 1,100,000 by the end.
