Question: The table below shows the proportion of the work force who are women and the proportion of managers who are women in five different countries.
ANSWER:
The table illustrates the percentages of female workers and managers across five nations. Overall, the largest share of women in the workforce is documented in Japan, whereas Australia and the United States record the highest rate of female managers. Additionally, Australia is the only place where female managers have a higher share than workers.
Regarding the overall gender distribution in the workforce, nearly half of it in Japan is females, which is the highest result, followed by the United States at a minimally lower rate of 46%. Moreover, Australia and Sri Lanka exhibit comparable percentages of slightly over 40%, approximately double that of Egypt, which represents the lowest figure among the surveyed nations in this category.
Concerning the rate of female managers, the figures for Australia and the United States were identical at 43%, which is significantly higher than the other countries. Specifically, 17% and 12% of managers in Japan and Egypt are women, respectively; meanwhile, Sri Lanka witnesses the lowest rate of women in managing positions at only 9%. (170 words)
