Question: The diagram shows the process of manufacturing bottled and canned water.
ANSWER:
The illustration demonstrates the sequence of producing bottled and canned carbonated water.
Overall, five primary stages are employed in the process, which start with raw water filtration and progress through carbonation, concluding with the distribution of the final products to retail outlets.
The first two main stages aim to produce carbonated water. Initially, raw water is drawn from factories and sent through pipelines to undergo filtration. After this, it arrives at a dual-purpose station that softens and chemically treats the filtered water, before being pumped to electric heaters to evaporate. The temperature is subsequently reduced by a cooling pipe and the treated water flows into a tank, where it is infused with carbon dioxide to produce carbonated water.
Bottles and cans of water are the results of the remaining stages. Carbonated water is conveyed to a mixing tank, where it is stirred with additives including colorants, syrup, and flavour from connected containers. After blending, the mixture undergoes another filtering process, before being packaged into bottles and cans, which are finally boxed and shipped via lorries to supermarkets for consumer purchase.
