The chart shows the water levels in reservoirs of 6 cities in Australia in October 2009 and October 2010.
The bar graph compares the percentage of the total capacity of reserved water in reservoirs among six different Australian metropolises, from October 2009 to October 2010. Overall, most cities witnessed a rise in their levels of water over the surveyed year, except for City 1 which decreased, and City 4 which remained unchanged.
Regarding the areas that increased, City 2 and City 6 ranked first at approximately 75% each in 2009, then both increased in the following year, with the first rising marginally to over 80% and the latter significantly to nearly reach its full capacity. Starting at precisely 40% in 2009, the rate of water in City 5’s reservoir ascended considerably to slightly over 60% in 2010. In a similar trend, but at a lower extent, the figure for City 3 rose from roughly 25% to nearly 40% between 2009 and 2010.
Concerning the remaining cities, the share of water in City 1’s reservoir began at the fourth position in the first year at nearly half, then it decreased moderately to less than 30% in 2010, making it the lowest among the given areas. The storage level of the reservoir in City 4 experienced no changes throughout the period, with around 55% of its capacity being filled. (208 words)

Question: Some people argue that we should do research into their family history. Others, agree with the view that we should focus on the present and future generations. Discuss both views and give your own opinion?
ANSWER:
Opinions diverge on whether people should delve into their ancestral roots to understand more about the past or conversely, the present and future cohorts should be their main priority. This essay will discuss both opinions and provide the reasons for my advocacy that concentrating on the present and future orientation is a sustainable development.
Proponents of exploring family history argue its importance with two valid justifications. The foremost one is that information about the past holds immense cultural value about the lineage’s traditions and heritage. This knowledge may create an intangible connection to people’s ancestors which can instil a sense of belonging and make them proud. Moreover, people can learn from the past mistakes and avoid repeating the same errors. By learning from their forebears, life experiences and wisdom can be transferred to the younger generations which allow them to make informed decisions if they encounter similar situations in real life.
However, another perspective believes that it is more important to be present and future oriented. The driving factor is that people can address pressing problems and make necessary alterations. The world is constantly evolving, which involves contemporary challenges, such as climate change, poverty, and other social problems. Consequently, these issues require immediate actions and innovative thinking. Furthermore, many family traditions and beliefs have become obsolete and unsuitable for today’s society. Thus, to ensure social progress is not hindered by outdated customs and ideologies, people should direct their attention to the present and future generations so that younger people can develop their own sets of values and eradicate any inappropriate practices.
In conclusion, I believe that while discovering ancestral backgrounds can help preserve important family cultures and provide people invaluable life lessons, an emphasis on the present and future groups can better solve certain perennial complications and foster a sustainable personal growth by eliminating ill-suited principles. Therefore, I am convinced that the contemporary and future age brackets should captivate more attention from the general public. (325 words)
