The diagram below shows the development of cutting tools in the Stone Age.
The picture illustrates the 600-year evolution of a cutting tool during the Stone Age, beginning 1.4 million years ago. Overall, the tool was honed more carefully and became sharper over time. Additionally, the dimensions of the object were significantly increased.
Tool A was used 1.4 million years ago, and was about 8 cm tall and about 3 cm wide, larger in the middle and slightly tapered towards the top and bottom. Random breaks appeared on both surfaces and its tip was adequately pointed. The contours of its edges are quite rough due to similar cuts. Moreover, the front is wider than the back.
Tool B was an improvement of tool A 600 years later, its height and width were increased by approximately 2 cm and 1 cm, respectively. Its edge was more finely crafted into a teardrop shape, with the top being substantially more pointed and the bottom more rounded. Looking from the side, its edge was no longer ragged, thus becoming smoother and sharper. (167 words)

Question: In many countries, many children are becoming overweight and unhealthy. Some people believe that the government has the responsibility to deal with it. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
ANSWER:
It is believed that the authorities are obliged to address the predicament of childhood obesity and their unhealthy lifestyles in various parts of the world. I mostly agree with this notion though the role of parents and schools are equally important.
One valid reason for my agreement is that policymakers possess the authority to apply nationwide regulations that can affect children’s lifestyles. In fact, they can shape minor’s behaviours by restricting targeted advertising of fast food or other unhealthy products as well as requiring schools to prepare lunches which follow nutritious standards for their students. For example, new limitations on fast food marketing aimed at children have recently been introduced in many European countries, thus encouraging them to shift to more health-conscious options.
Further argument for my belief is that the state budget can be allocated to building more open space to promote physical exercise. This is because governments can effectively utilise the tax revenue to construct more parks or public playgrounds which can create more readily available and safer areas for physical activities. As a result, this can foster an active way of living and discourage youngsters from partaking in sedentary pursuits such as playing video games or watching tv.
However, I concede that a multifaceted approach is needed to effectively mitigate this menace. On a family level, parents can act as young individuals’ role models by adhering to a healthy diet by including more vegetables in their daily intake or engaging in regular exercise. From an educational perspective, schools can integrate comprehensive health education into their curricula or make physical education a compulsory subject.
In conclusion, I somewhat contend that governments must be responsible for mitigating the problems of juveniles gaining excessive weight and following an unhealthy way of life because of the ability to implement large-scale policies and divert monetary resources for the construction of beneficial public amenities. Nonetheless, I admit that the solution to this menace also necessitates efforts from parents and educational institutions. Where possible, the cooperation from all groups is necessary to help youths make informed decisions concerning their health. (346 words)
