Question: The charts below show the percentage of workers in three sectors across four countries on 1980 and 2010.
ANSWER:
The bar graphs compare the distribution of employees in three various realms in four countries between 1980 and 2010. Overall, employment in farming and services declined in all nations, while industrial sectors increased in most, except for China, which remained stable. Moreover, most countries saw the highest labour rate in manufacturing in both years, excluding China where agriculture ranked first.
Concerning the agricultural field, it accounted for 70% of workers in China in 1980 before decreasing most noticeably by 20% in 2010. Similarly, Japan and America were around 10% in the first year but then dropped slightly to just under 10% in the final year. Meanwhile, starting at the lowest result of about 5%, hardly any German individuals worked in this sector thirty years later.
Regarding the industrial domain, in the beginning, this made up 60% of German workers compared to just under 50% of Japanese and Americans. Thereafter, Germany and Japan ascended to an identical percentage of 80%, whereas America only rose to 70% in the end. In contrast, China remained unchanged at 40%, consistently being the lowest.
Finally, the share of people engaging in service-related professions in China, Germany and America was nearly comparable at the start, at around 50% each, which was 10% higher than Japan. In 2010, while the proportion of German, American and Japanese workers dropped by roughly 10%, China plunged to the lowest position of 20%.
